Five bursaries created by the sale of part of the Asian Field to Guangdong Art Museum are being offered to young artists (young in terms of their professional practice not age) to assist them to realize a project, develop their working practice or seek inspiration through travel. The applicants are requested to write a letter outlining their proposed use of the tim e and the resource and indicate how it will further their practice with ten images of their previous work to be communicated by email. The work and proposals will be assessed by Antony Gormley ,the originator of the Field project, and Sui Jian Guo sculptor. The criteria for selection will be the originality and liveliness of the conceptual and pragmatic approaches of the artists – there will be no bias in terms of media, age or status. It is important that any serious artist feels that they can apply. This is money made by the sale of a collectively made artwork being administered by two artists for artists.
