Bianca Brunner

非常年轻,2004年才从英国伦敦大学毕业,作品质量非常高,值得跟踪一下,在GOOGLE查了一下,虽然年轻,但是已经在欧洲小有名头,参加的几个群展质量也都不错.

Description
As noted in reGeneration: 50 Photographers of Tomorrow (Aperture, 2006), Bianca Brunner\'s photographs are based on memory. Limbo 5, included in reGeneration, is from Brunner\'s five-image Limbo series exploring the concept of somatic memory, the body\'s own memory. The series shows people fixed in motion, in a moment of stillness. Nothing in the images is moving; everything is held in a prolonged state of waiting. Brunner wants us to remember that human beings do not only remember things with their minds, but that many memories may be held inside the body.

"When we touch things, or move in certain ways, the thoughts attached to these bodily functions can pop up," Brunner says. "Or it can be the other way around; remembering something can unleash certain physical feelings or even movements. This phenomenon . . . the displacement in time that takes place when a latent image suddenly emerges and disrupts the scene of the present . . . is what this work is all about."

First 10: $800; Nos. 11-20: $1,000; Nos. 21-30: $1,250; Nos. 31-40: $1,500

Biography
Bianca Brunner (b. 1974) was born in Chur, Switzerland. Brunner graduated with a BA from the London College of Communication, London, in 2004. She is currently working toward an MFA at the Royal College of Art, London. Brunner has been included in numerous group shows, including reGeneration: 50 Photographers of Tomorrow, which was organized by Musée de l\'Elysée, Lausanne, Switzerland, and opened in the U.S. at Aperture Gallery, New York.

The generosity of artists and artist estates makes it possible for Aperture Foundation to offer limited-edition photographs at affordable prices. Proceeds help support Aperture’s education program, which includes lectures and panel discussions with artists, curators, and other key players in the field of photography. Each limited-edition photograph has been made expressly for Aperture, and has been produced to the highest aesthetic and technical standards by master printmakers, using the finest materials and methods.
